Introduction

Welcome to Nanorater. Your privacy matters. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using Nanorater.

Information Collection and Use

We collect the following types of data to provide the service:

  1. Account Information

    • What We Collect: This includes your name, email address, and any other information you provide when creating an account.
    • Purpose: To manage your account and provide customer support.
  2. Photos for a Full Report (and Generated Outputs)

    • What We Collect: When you start a Full Report, the photo you chose (resized to at most 1024 pixels), the measurements your browser computed from it, and the outputs we generate: the written report and four AI preview images.
    • Purpose: To generate your report and show it back to you.
  3. Usage Details

    • What We Collect: Information about how you use Nanorater, including your interactions, features accessed, and usage frequency.
    • Purpose: To analyze user engagement and improve our services.
  4. Device Information

    • What We Collect: Data regarding the devices you use to access Nanorater, such as device type, operating system, and browser type.
    • Purpose: To optimize our services for different devices and ensure compatibility.
  5. Cookies

    • What We Collect: Small data files placed on your device that help us track user preferences and improve user experience.
    • Purpose: To enhance the functionality of our services and personalize your experience.
  6. Payment and Billing Information

    • What We Collect: Order and payment status, product, transaction identifiers, and the email address you enter at checkout. Stripe handles card details; we never see or store them.
    • Purpose: To process the payment, send your receipt and report link, and handle refunds and support requests.
  7. Guest Sessions

    • What We Collect: You can buy a report without creating an account. We then create an anonymous session, stored in a cookie on your device, so the report stays linked to you. If you later create an account, the report moves to it.
    • Purpose: To let you open your report again without signing up.

The Free Scan Runs on Your Device

The free face scan and the free tests (including the face shape, golden ratio and PSL pages) run in your browser. Your photo is not uploaded for them and we do not store the result. To run them, your browser downloads a face-detection model and a small code file from a public content delivery network (jsDelivr), which receives the standard details of the request, such as your IP address.

Retention and Deletion

Full Report photos, reports and previews are stored so you can open your report again. We do not currently promise a fixed automatic deletion period. Self-service deletion is not currently available. Contact support@nanorater.com to request deletion of uploads, outputs, or account data; we will review the request and explain any limits before handling it.

Training and Model Improvement

We use uploads to generate the feedback and images you request. Storage and AI providers process these uploads as part of the service. We do not operate a model-training workflow using uploaded photos; third-party processing is subject to the providers’ policies, and we do not promise that every provider has the same retention or training terms.

Not for Minors

Nanorater is intended for adults. Do not upload photos of minors.

Data Storage and Security

Account records are protected by authentication and access controls. Uploaded and generated image files are served through image URLs: anyone who has a file URL can access that image. These URLs are not a private-file access boundary. Share links only when you are comfortable with others viewing the image. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties, except in the following circumstances:

  • To comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
  • To protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users or others.
  • To provide services through trusted third-party partners who assist us in operating our website or conducting our business, including storage and AI processing providers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "effective date" at the top of this policy. You are advised to review this privacy policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this privacy policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
